The Madhya Pradesh Employees Selection Board (MPESB) has released the official rulebook for the Group-3 Sub Engineer, Sahayak Manchitrakar, Technician and Other Equivalent Posts Combined Recruitment Test 2026. A total of 1,040 vacancies have been notified across various Madhya Pradesh Government departments.
The online application window begins on 18 August 2026 and remains open until 1 September 2026. Candidates can make permitted corrections in the submitted application up to 6 September 2026. The combined recruitment examination is scheduled to begin from 6 October 2026.
Current status: Application window – 18 August to 1 September 2026 | Correction – up to 6 September 2026 | Exam starts – 6 October 2026.
Vacancy correction: The correct category-wise breakup is UR 381, EWS 90, OBC 272, SC 156 and ST 141. These figures add up exactly to the official total of 1,040 posts. Do not use category figures that exceed the notified total.
Fee correction: ₹560 and ₹310 are not the base examination fees. The rulebook prescribes an examination fee of ₹500 for unreserved candidates and ₹250 for eligible MP reserved-category candidates. MP Online separately charges ₹60 through kiosk or ₹20 through registered-citizen login.
eKYC mandatory: MP Online states that candidates whose ESB profile eKYC is incomplete must first complete eKYC before they are allowed to fill the examination application form.

OBC | 272 |
SC | 156 |
ST | 141 |
Total | 1,040 |
Post-wise eligibility matters: These 1,040 vacancies include Sub Engineer and multiple other technical/equivalent posts. Qualification is not identical for every post code, so candidates must match their diploma, degree, ITI or other prescribed technical qualification with the exact post code in the official rulebook.
Application Fee – Correct Calculation
Category | Exam Fee | Kiosk Total | Registered Citizen Total |
|---|---|---|---|
Unreserved / applicable non-concession candidate | ₹500 | ₹560 | ₹520 |
Eligible MP SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD concession category | ₹250 | ₹310 | ₹270 |
Portal charge: ₹60 when the form is filled through an MP Online authorised kiosk, or ₹20 when a registered citizen user fills the form through login. Other transaction/correction charges may apply where specified by the portal/rulebook.
Why some sites show ₹560/₹310: They have added the ₹60 kiosk portal fee to the examination fee. That is not the only possible portal-charge route.
Age Limit
Minimum age: 18 years.
Base maximum age: 40 years.
Age calculated as on: 1 January 2026.
Relaxation / higher permissible upper age applies to eligible Madhya Pradesh categories and other candidates according to the detailed recruitment rules.
Because the recruitment covers multiple departments and post types, candidates should verify the exact age relaxation applicable to their category/post in the rulebook rather than assuming a single relaxed upper-age figure for everyone.
Educational Qualification
There is no single qualification that covers all 1,040 vacancies. Depending on the post code, the rulebook prescribes an appropriate technical qualification such as:
Relevant Engineering Diploma.
Relevant Engineering / Technical Degree.
ITI or other post-specific technical qualification where expressly prescribed.
Other equivalent / specialised qualification for the concerned Manchitrakar, Technician, Laboratory or technical post.
Do not apply only from the headline: A Civil diploma suitable for one Sub Engineer post does not automatically qualify a candidate for every Group-3 post code. Check department, post code, discipline and qualification before paying the fee.
