RRB JE Recruitment 2026 – Apply Online for 4,029 JE, DMS & CMA Posts

Railway Recruitment Boards have opened online applications for RRB JE Recruitment 2026 under CEN 04/2026. The recruitment now covers various posts of Junior Engineer (JE), Depot Material Superintendent (DMS) and Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA) in Level 6 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix.

The detailed CEN was published on 13 August 2026 with 3,993 JE/DMS vacancies. On 18 August 2026, Corrigendum-1 added 35 CMA vacancies and one additional JE/Electrical/TRS vacancy under RRB Secunderabad. The revised total is therefore 4,029 vacancies.

Current status: Applications are open from 14 August to 13 September 2026. Fee payment is allowed up to 15 September 2026.

Major vacancy correction: The current official total is 4,029, not 4,098 and not 4,028. Original CEN: 3,993 + Corrigendum-1 additions: 36 = 4,029.

RRB-wise correction: After Corrigendum-1, RRB Secunderabad has 111 vacancies, because one JE/Electrical/TRS vacancy was added. A table still showing Secunderabad as 110 will total only 4,028 and is outdated.

New CMA post: Corrigendum-1 added 35 Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant vacancies. CMA carries Level 6, initial pay ₹35,400, age 18–33 years and requires the prescribed B.Sc. qualification in Physics and Chemistry with minimum 45% marks.

Educational Qualification

Junior Engineer (JE)

Qualification is post/discipline specific. For most JE categories, the CEN prescribes a three-year Diploma in the relevant engineering discipline or the applicable higher engineering qualification in the same/relevant discipline, subject to the exact post parameters in Annexure-A.

Examples include Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics, Signal & Telecommunication, IT/Computer-related and other notified engineering streams. Candidates must match their qualification with the exact post code before selecting preferences.

Depot Material Superintendent (DMS)

Three-year Diploma in Engineering in any discipline from a recognised University/Institution. The corrigendum states that DMS candidates choosing an Exam Group from the mapping table cannot choose the newly added CMA Exam Group.

Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA)

A B.Sc. degree in Physics and Chemistry with minimum 45% marks from a recognised University/Institute, with Physics and Chemistry studied in one of the combinations specified in Corrigendum-1.

Qualification cut-off: Candidates must possess the prescribed educational/technical qualification by the closing date of application, 13 September 2026. Candidates awaiting the required final result should not assume provisional eligibility.
