SSC CHSL FRTA Result 2026 Out – 3,515 Recommended, Sliding Dates & Final Vacancy

The Staff Selection Commission has declared the First Round of Tentative Allocation (FRTA) for the Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination 2025 on 17 August 2026. The current SSC CHSL 2025 update is therefore no longer only about the earlier Post Preference Form.

Against 3,522 final vacancies, SSC has provisionally recommended 3,515 candidates in the first round for the Identification Verification / sliding-related process on the basis of Tier-II performance and the post/department preferences submitted online.

Current status on 18 August 2026: SSC CHSL 2025 FRTA – Released | Final Vacancies – 3,522 | Candidates Recommended – 3,515.

Immediate next step: Recommended candidates have to choose their Sliding venue, date and slot from 20–22 August 2026 through the designated SSC login module. The physical Sliding process will be held from 1–3 September 2026.

Attendance is mandatory: SSC has stated that a candidate who fails to attend the Sliding process physically will be treated as absent and will not be considered for the final result.

Vacancy correction: The original notification mentioned approximately 3,131 tentative vacancies. The final vacancy statement now contains 3,522 vacancies. Therefore, articles still showing 3,131 as the current total are outdated.

How FRTA Merit Was Prepared

SSC has clarified that the First Round of Tentative Allocation was prepared on the basis of:

  • Aggregate marks in Section-I + Section-II of Tier-II.

  • Qualification in Section-III Computer Knowledge Test.

  • Qualification in the applicable Skill Test / Typing Test.

  • Candidate's submitted post and department preference.

  • Category, reservation, vacancy availability and post-specific eligibility.

Tier-I is not the main FRTA merit score: SSC states that FRTA merit is based on Tier-II Section-I and Section-II marks, subject to qualifying the other mandatory Tier-II sections. Tier-I marks are used in the tie-resolution sequence after Tier-II Section-I marks.

Sliding Mechanism – What Recommended Candidates Must Do

SSC introduced the Sliding Mechanism to reduce vacancies left unfilled because a tentatively allocated candidate chooses not to join or becomes unavailable. Under CHSL 2025, the process now moves from FRTA to physical sliding/identity verification.

  1. Login to the SSC portal during 20–22 August 2026.

  2. Open the designated Sliding module.

  3. Select the available venue, date and slot.

  4. Note/download the venue details shown in the login.

  5. Report physically at the concerned Regional Office city during 1–3 September 2026 according to your chosen slot.

  6. Carry the identity/original documents required by SSC and follow the venue instructions.

  7. Complete the physical attendance / identification process.

Do not skip this stage: SSC's FRTA notice clearly states that physical absence from the Sliding process means the candidate will not be considered for the final result.

FRTA Is Not the Final Appointment Result

The word Tentative is important. FRTA is not equivalent to a final appointment letter.

  • Candidates are only provisionally recommended at this stage.

  • They must complete the required Sliding / Identification Verification process.

  • Eligibility and documents remain subject to verification.

  • The final result/allocation is issued after the prescribed process is completed.

  • Appointment and joining formalities are handled by the concerned user department after SSC's final selection/nomination.

Withheld, Cancelled & Debarred Cases

The FRTA write-up also records the following special cases:

  • Result of 8 candidates has been kept withheld.

  • Candidature of 1 candidate has been cancelled.

  • 12 candidates have been debarred by SSC in CHSL 2025.

Candidates affected by any such status should rely only on the SSC result write-up and their own candidate login rather than third-party result claims.

Tie-Breaking Rule

If two or more candidates had the same Tier-II score, SSC applied the following order until the tie was resolved:

  1. Higher marks in Section-I of Tier-II.

  2. Higher marks in Tier-I.

  3. Older candidate by Date of Birth.

SSC CHSL 2025 Posts – Important Correction

The official CHSL 2025 notification primarily advertised Group-C recruitment for:

  • Lower Division Clerk (LDC) / Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA) and equivalent departmental clerical designations.

  • Data Entry Operator (DEO).

  • Data Entry Operator Grade-A.

Post correction: The official CHSL 2025 notification does not list Postal Assistant / Sorting Assistant as a standard notified CHSL 2025 post group. Avoid carrying forward older CHSL post lists into the 2025 cycle.

Educational Qualification

Qualification cut-off date: 1 January 2026.

  • For most LDC/JSA and DEO posts: 12th Standard or equivalent from a recognised Board/University.

  • For DEO / DEO Grade-A in the specified Ministry/Departments including the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, Ministry of Culture and SSC: 12th Science with Mathematics is required.
