UP Anganwadi Bharti 2026 - District-Wise Worker and Helper Vacancies

The Uttar Pradesh District Programme Officer has invited online applications for UP Anganwadi Bharti 2026 through district-wise recruitment notices. Eligible female candidates can apply for Anganwadi Worker and Anganwadi Helper posts available in their local village, ward or Nyaya Panchayat.

Recruitment is not being conducted through one common statewide closing date. Every district has a separate vacancy count, notification and application deadline. As of 6 August 2026, official notices with closing dates from 7 to 31 August cover 5,152 vacancies across 18 districts. Applicants must check the notification for their district before submitting the form.

Current opportunity: Online applications remain open in districts such as Ghaziabad, Unnao, Ayodhya, Meerut, Basti, Saharanpur, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Hapur, Kushinagar, Sant Kabir Nagar, Ambedkar Nagar and Azamgarh. Deadlines are different for every district and post.

Important correction: “60,000+ posts” should not be shown as the verified number of vacancies currently open under one notification. The official portal publishes recruitment separately for each district, post and application period. The table below contains only notices whose deadlines were after 6 August 2026.

Closing-date alert: Ghaziabad Worker and Helper applications close on 7 August 2026. Candidates from that district should verify availability on the official portal and complete the form without waiting.

Eligibility Criteria

Female Candidates Only

Applications are accepted only from eligible female candidates. Male candidates cannot apply for the Worker or Helper posts covered by these notices.

Educational Qualification

The minimum qualification prescribed in current district notices is Intermediate or Class 12, or an equivalent recognised qualification. Academic qualifications above Intermediate may also be considered while preparing the merit list according to the applicable government order.

Local Residence Requirement

The applicant must ordinarily be a permanent resident of the village, Gram Sabha or urban ward where the vacancy exists. If no eligible candidate is available in the required category within the Gram Sabha, selection may be considered from the related Nyaya Panchayat according to the district notice.

Age Limit

Current July and August 2026 notifications generally prescribe a minimum age of 18 years and a maximum age of 35 years, calculated on 1 July 2026. Candidates must check the date printed in their own district notification because older notices may use a different cut-off.

Selection Process

There is no written examination or interview mentioned as the primary selection method. Selection is carried out through a district-level merit and priority process under the applicable Uttar Pradesh government order.

  1. Online application scrutiny: The district office checks the submitted information and uploaded documents.

  2. Local eligibility verification: Residence in the concerned village, Gram Sabha, ward or Nyaya Panchayat is verified.

  3. Priority-category review: Eligible candidates are placed according to the priority order prescribed in the notice.

  4. Academic merit: A merit list is prepared using recognised educational marks according to government rules.

  5. District selection committee approval: The recommended list is considered by the district-level committee.

  6. Document verification: Original documents are checked before final appointment.

Priority Order

District notices generally give preference first to eligible women from families living below the poverty line. Within the applicable BPL or APL group, the priority order commonly includes widows, legally divorced or abandoned women and other eligible women. Candidates must read the exact priority rules in their district PDF.

Family Income Condition

Some current district notices refer to annual family-income limits of ₹46,080 for rural areas and ₹56,460 for urban areas for BPL-related priority. The income certificate must be digitally issued by the competent tehsil authority and valid according to the notification.
