UP Police SI ASI Written Exam Pattern

Qualifying Marks

Candidates must obtain at least 35% normalised marks in each of the four subjects and at least 40% normalised marks in the complete written examination. A candidate failing to meet either condition is not eligible for the next stage.

Normalisation

If the examination is held in more than one shift or on different dates with different question papers, the Board may apply its notified normalisation procedure. Merit and shortlisting are then based on normalised marks rather than raw marks.

Physical Standard Test

The PST is qualifying in nature. It checks only the prescribed height, chest and weight standards. No running-based PET is specified for this ministerial recruitment.

Computer Typing and Shorthand Test

Candidates who qualify Document Verification and PST are called for the post-specific qualifying computer typing test. Only SI Confidential candidates who qualify the typing requirements proceed to the Hindi shorthand test.

Complete Selection Process
